Project co-ordination and town planning consultancy for preparation of a masterplan for this major submission to the West Lothian Local Plan process.

South Dalmarnock Masterplan, Glasgow, Scotland
Devising planning strategy and providing masterplan support for large area of Glasgow’s East End; incorporating property advice for countering East End Regeneration Road (EERR) Compulsory Purchase and Road Closure Orders, submissions to City Plan 2, submission of observations on the EERR planning application, preparation of detailed planning application for live-work space in Listed Building.

Pates Hill Community Wind Farm, West Lothian, Scotland
Project co-ordination and planning inputs to the Environmental Impact Assessment, Public Local Inquiry for two planning applications. TPS is also providing key political and community planning advice for this initiative. Granted consent in early 2008.

Meggetland Public Inquiry, Edinburgh, Scotland
Representing the City of Edinburgh Council’s case for the approval of this controversial mixed residential / recreational development on public open space which had been called in for decision by the Scottish Executive.

Roughcastle, Falkirk, Scotland
Preparation of a masterplan for a private sector country park, partly within the Antonine Wall World Heritage Site zone, as a submission to Falkirk Local Plan process. The Council has partially accepted our submission and is modifying the Local Plan accordingly.

Large scale community engagement project to help the Council, six villages, land owners, developers and other stakeholders plan the expansion of these settlements in response to dramatic population growth in the local government area.

Sucessfully winning two separate development approvals for a hotel and a boutique restaurant for difficult GreenBelt/Roman Antonine Wall World Heritage Site properties.

Alloa/Alva Academies, Scotland
Preparing development briefs and indicative masterplans for two High school sites in Central Scotland. The schools are to be re-located and the sites sold for development. We also prepared a community engagement strategy for this project.

Dumbarton Football Club Stadium, Scotland
Planning and property development feasibility study, complemented with public affairs strategy. These were used to justify a buy-out of the club which took place in March 2008.

Kirkcaldy and Mid-Fife Local Plan, Scotland
Fife Council commissioned TPS to process and analyse over 500 submissions on the Kirkcaldy and Mid-Fife Local Plan. We also had to prepare a report on these submissions that Council planning officers would use as the basis of recommendation to the Council Planning Committee.

Councillor Training and Induction, Scotland
In 2007 TPS prepared a handbook on planning for all Scottish councillors and followed this up with the provision of training workshops for 17 Councils, 1 National Park Authority and over 400 delegates throughout Scotland. In July 2008 we won a commission to develop this training programme further over the next 2.5 years.

Leadership in Planning, Scotland
TPS has been developing an expertise in the leadership of effective planning and place making by Councils. In June 2008 we were awarded a commission by the Scottish Government Improvement Service to undertake a major study into this topic and how this form of leadership could be enhanced.

Romania
TPS provided planning expertise for the training of Romanian planners and politicians in Bucharest on aspects of spatial planning as part of Romania’s accession programme for European Union membership.
